Does anyone need more than the teensiest excuse to drink beer and eat sausage with some accordion music in the background? OK I have to admit that I’ve never actually been to a true Oktoberfest and I believe it’s overdue! Most autumns up until now have been dominated by kids’ sports and pumpkin patches (see last week’s blog!). Everything about these festivals seems like a ton of fun… the one in Richmond is a little bit of a hike, but it looks awesome and wow don’t you love the poster!? If you go to the website, there is a cute video too. The Stein Hoisting Contest looks like one of the highlights!
Northern Virginia Fall Brewfest, Bull Run Regional Park, Centerville
“Our Fall BrewFest is a craft beer sampling festival, providing a great opportunity to try fall, winter and holiday seasonal brews from local (VA, DC & MD) and regional (PA, DE, WV & NC) craft breweries…We encourage you to sample different beers and enjoy all of the tasty libations, but be careful because some of these are much stronger then what you’re used to drinking!”
